Melita Morriss
Melita describes her physiotherapy career as being “quite the journey” since she graduated from Curtin University in 2009. At times, it’s been frustrating and challenging, but it’s always been countlessly more rewarding. Since starting in a small musculoskeletal clinic in Fremantle, WA, being a physio has taken her across the country and then around the world and back. She’s worked with some amazing physios, and met many more amazing patients, treating Olympians, elite sports people, trauma survivors, chronic pain sufferers and everyone in between. The more she sees, the more Melita believes that far too many people live life unnecessarily limited by pain and discomfort. Our medical system has taught us to be passive experiencers of our health, but that’s changing. Melita believes we are responsible and capable of healing ourselves, we just need the right guidance and information to do so, and she is passionate about being the person that gives that to her patients.
Melita is grateful for the mentors, opportunities and experiences she’s had, she would not be the person or physio she is today without them. Melita loves what she does and the best part is, she loves the stuff most physios hate - the tough stuff, the complex and stubborn injuries that just don’t make sense and won’t go away!
In her spare time Melita enjoys staying active and exploring the beautiful Snowy Mountains with her little family.
